Visas
Visas are required by all visitors to Bahrain except passport holders of the GCC States and most visitors to Bahrain can apply and pay electronically. Please visit www.evisa.gov.bh for full information and to check visa requirements.
72 hour/7 day visa: These can be obtained on arrival at the Bahrain International Airport or at the King Fahad Causeway. In addition to a passport, the passenger must have a confirmed return/onward journey ticket for the visa application to be processed.
Current requirements to live and work in Bahrain
Anyone wishing to live and work in Bahrain will require a:
- Work visa – called a ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) and if applicable, a family visa (NOC)
- Work permit
- Residency permit
- CPR card (identity card)
Work permits are issued by the Ministry of Labour (BD100 fee for a new work permit)
CPR cards are the most frequently requested form of identification and should be carried at all times (BD1 fee). They are issued by the Central Informatics Organization (please note their website is currently only available in Arabic)
NOC and residence permits are issued by the General Department for Nationality, Passport and Residence costs will vary depending on single/family applications.
